Today marks the start of packet pickup for the Fargo Marathon at the Fargodome.
To me, one of the best parts of big race events is the expo and finding yourself surrounded by the excitement, anxiety and energy of thousands of others who share an interest in the sport.
Traditionally, the Fargo community has lined the streets on race morning in support of the runners. Since the race’s inception, Fargo (and Moorhead) have embraced the event, and its popularity has made it one of the best days of the year. Plus, it seems there are more and more runners each year who make it a year-round sport.
If you’re running the full marathon, you’ll want to check out the course video and historical facts about the Fargo Marathon. You can also view The Forum’s marathon coverage online. For those 21 and over, consider the 27th Mile Pub Crawl after the race to celebrate.
Also, look for the Wild Hog Half Marathon promos on the Inforum website and inside the special results tab in Sunday’s The Forum. The Grand Forks race should be high on the list of options for anyone looking for a fall race since it is a fast and scenic race.
