Previewing The 2017 Fargo Marathon Course

Tweaks to the Fargo Marathon course are pretty much a guarantee from year to year. And while the course may change slightly from year to year, most runners love starting and finishing in the Fargodome.

And while there are a significant number of turns to navigate (remember to run those tangents), it’s great to see the course going through the farther northern stretches of Fargo again.

Early in the race, marathoners will trek along the roads that I am lucky to run daily — sweeping turns beneath a large canopy of hardwood trees make it a beautiful run, and offers pretty good protection from the weather year round.

Of course, the race incorporates the infamous south Fargo stretches — the iconic Eighth Street South and the equally raucous Ninth Street South — before reaching the northside again.

Check out this year’s official marathon course preview video below with commentary from The Forum’s Jeff Kolpack and Race Director Mark Knutson. Additionally, you can watch Dom Izzo’s interview with Mark over on Dizzo’s Den.
