Embracing change

"Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past or present are certain to miss the future." – John F. Kennedy

Sitting in a training session today at work, I couldn’t help but think about change. Well, dealing with change was the topic, but I’m one of those people who like change. And when it comes to most aspects of life – from personal to professional – you’ll usually see me advocating for change.

To me, change represents progress, experimentation, innovation and variety. If you’ve read my blog long enough, you know that this whole idea of running started as a journey – not a destination. While at times it may seem that my goals are time and goal driven, there’s nothing I enjoy more than running new trails, rural country roads and places I’ve never been.

A buddy sent me some photos from the half marathon Saturday in Fergus Falls:

  1. Hey Tim, hope all is well. Those are the new CW-X and I’m a huge fan. I wore them for the Fargo Marathon and may end up doing the same at Grandma’s – depending on the weather. See you on the hills soon.

  2. Great photos! Are those the “air conditioned” tights from CW-X? I believe that it’s better to go with the flow instead of fighting the river, but at times I find comfort in routine. Maybe for me it’s the difference between change and chaos.
